It’s the little things in life…

Love1

Oh for a peaceful quiet household tonight.

It’s the little things in life that really matter.

I think to myself – as I eat my way through a pack of Tim Tam‘s.

No hysterical mid teens having a fashion crisis.

No terrified cat looking for a place to hide.

No  transport mishaps that involve me having to intervene.

Just a few pleasant text messages.

It’s all good.

Only music playing.

Digital ABC TV.

Lamps on only.

Writing.

Photography.

Timeout for me.

It’s the little things in life that really matter.

DEVELOP AN ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE

The Law of attraction states that the more we are grateful for,the more we will receive. It goes without saying that we should work hard to develop an attitude of gratitude.

How do we do that? I can hear you ask. It’s really quite simple. We have a lot to be grateful for in our day to day lives,we just need to acknowledge the little things.Let’s start simply. Are you grateful for your home, family, pets, car or motorbike? Are you grateful for the computer or phone you are reading this blog on? Now you’re getting the hang of it.It really is easy to work on developing an attitude of gratitude.

TRY THESE SIMPLE STEPS

  • Every time you enter a room, take a look around and make a mini mental list of all the things in the room you are grateful for.Simple things like the carpet you are standing on,the television, your furniture, your ‘special effects’.Wow,you have so much to be grateful for.
  • Start a Gratitude Journal. It doesn’t need to be a bound leather journal.Anywhere you can collect your writing will do.Each night before sleep, write down three good things that happened to you that day.Simple things like hug from your child, the smile from a stranger, someone paying you a compliment.

In your Gratitude Journal write down five things you are grateful for – a nice comfortable bed,a safe place to sleep – this is just the start of your ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE. Do thisceach and every night and review each morning.

Photo Tribute to My Dad!

As mentioned in the article below,my Father died thirty one years ago when I was just seventeen.I grew up by the beach at Redcliffe in Queensland,Australia.I am the youngest of six children and my Dad was twenty eight when I was born.

My father came from a rural town and loved the bush.Settling by the Bay with his family,he quickly adapted and embraced the ocean and all it had to offer. We grew up on fresh fish, crabs, prawns and calamari.

Schucking oysters of the rocks was one of my favourite things to do with my father. We would go for hours and hours.Eventually, I’d get bored and wonder around the rocks playing imaginary games.Dad would be calling out “Move closer to shore – the tide’s coming in.”

My father would be shocked at the changes on the foreshore now. Here’s a photo tribute to my father – Norman James Henrickson.May your soul be eternally blessed. Thanks Dad,for those awesome long afternoons of oyster picking off the rocks at Redcliffe and the deep knowledge and love of the ocean that you instilled in me.Not to mention my fishing and crabbing skils.Rest in Peace!

Tarot Majic..

I have dabbled in Tarot Card Reading for years. When I was younger,my girlfriends and I would sit around for hours, seeking answers to our love problems through tarot cards.Soothsaying or prophecy has been around since time began.Tarot card reading was particularly popular during medieval times.Unfortunately, many Christians feel predicting the future as being the work of the Devil.Gypsies have been great readers of the Tarot over the centuries and today it has had a resurgence in popularity.

In my quest for Free Online Tarot Card Readings,I have found many confusing,scam-like sites.About five years ago,I came across this great site called www.mysticgames.com This site has a free guest entrance or you can create an account for free. This allows you to keep readings and communicate with others. The site is user-friendly and I love it.Whilst I only do Tarot, the site also offers I-Ching,Runes and other mystical features.

Many different types of readings are offered, along with a variety of Tarot Deck selections that date back many hundreds of years. My favourite is The Tarot of Witches. This deck was created in 1974 by Scottish Artist Fergus Hall. The pictures on this deck are bold and colourful. They depict dreamlike fantasies. They are in a style similar to the surrealist movement. The Tarot of the Witches was the deck used in the James Bond movie  ‘Live and Let Die’ in 1978.The Tarot Deck that most people identify with is the Rider-Waite Deck, which was created centuries ago.

Tarot card readings are purely for entertainment. They are to enlighten and nurture. The images and messages don’t contain anything that is not already within you.One must always remember that the future can’t be written. The only way you can predict your future is to create it.We are all human and have the ability to exercise free will.

Enjoy!
